Long-awaited Assassin’s Creed game finally confirmed by a retail card. The newest member of the franchise will be called as Origins and will take place in Egypt.
An imgur user, called jimmyfallon007 posted the picture of a pre-order retail card. Last month there was a leak and we saw a screenshot of the unconfirmed gameplay frame. Now we know that the game will take place in Egypt.
Back in 2016, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot talked about not releasing a new game until they “make the experience fantastic.”
“We are now in a position to take the decision not to release a new Assassin’s Creed game in 2016-17, in order to give the brand a new dimension, while still presenting very solid targets for the fiscal year.
What we saw in the development of the next [Assassin’s Creed] was that we had an opportunity to take it to another level, so we said we’ll take all the time it takes to make the experience fantastic. It was feasible because we have other games. There’s a huge potential in this game to revolutionise the IP, so we said, ‘Let’s make sure we change our model so we have more time and that we can bring back a greater experience.”
We hope that all issues were resolved and Origins gives us the fantastic experience. We also think that the game will be released at E3 2017.
