The Witcher is being made into a Netflix drama by CG visual effects company Platige Image S.A.

The Witcher is being made into a Netflix drama by CG visual effects company Platige Image S.A. Announcement was made via Platige Image’s Twitter account and website.

Andrzej Sapkowski, author and the creator of the series will take part as creative consultant and he also made a statement about the big news:

I’m thrilled that Netflix will be doing an adaptation of my stories, staying true to the source material and the themes that I have spent over thirty years writing. I’m excited about our efforts together, as well as the team assembled to shepherd these characters to life.

Erick Barmack, Netflix Vice President also spoke about the development:

Andrzej Sapkowski has created a rich and memorable world, at once magical and familiar. We couldn’t be more excited about bringing Netflix members around the world.

Sean Daniel (The Mummy franchise) and Jason Brown (The Expanse) will be the executive producers. No release date, casting, or further information have been revealed so far.
